Chase ‘n’ Squirrels

Today we buried one of our dogs, Chase. He was 11 years old, and his health has been declining for a while now. He hadn’t kept any food down for a couple of days, and yesterday he could barely walk…so we made the decision to bring him in to the vet today and have him put to sleep.
Last night he curled up in bed with us. In the middle of the night he got out of bed, laid down on the floor next to Jenni, and went back to sleep. He didn’t wake up.
He knew it was coming, and he knew it was time. We’ll miss him a lot, but we buried him today in the backyard so he could keep on giving those squirrels hell.
Miss you, handsome. I made this trick today, just for you. It’s damn hard to catch that loop at the end, but it’s worth chasing…just like those squirrels.
