Patent Speak – Jacob Jensen
8/22/13
“If someone wanted to learn Eiffel tower, and the only learning resource they had at hand happened to be a description composed of the extravagantly abstruse sort of technical terms found in patent documents, this is probably would they’d end up doing.” – Jacob

Instant Wristmount to Dehydrated Wristmount – Jacob Jensen
8/1/13
“I like wristmounts. There’s just something about them that feels really good. I don’t usually do a lot with them other than finding nifty ways in and out, though. Here are a couple of my favorites.” – Jacob

Magnet Bind – Jacob Jensen
7/25/13
“A goofy bind that works on low spin and bends in a manner suggestive of being pulled off-course by a magnet. Since I go into a backhand stall, I tag a similarly goofy isolation pull-start on the end, then a not-terribly-goofy frontstyle bind to get it back to the hand.” – Jacob

The Kirby Complex – Jacob Jensen
“This trick demonstrates basic use of an ephemeral traveling loop. The loop is generated by the non-throwhand and travels along the string, and the yoyo intercepts it to form a GT. I drew inspiration from Doc Pop—not from any particular trick he did, but from his approach. As for the name, it has nothing to do with vacuum cleaners or video game characters, it was merely a phrase that was going through my head when I was developing the trick.” – Jacob

Chasm Crossing – Jacob Jensen
7/11/13
“This trick illustrates use of a crossing double upright slack throw, and is something of a sequel to Mighty Mousse.
Inspiration came from watching Spencer Berry’s video Debt in Knowledge, and the name is a nod to that.” – Jacob

Mighty Mousse – Jacob Jensen
7/4/13
“This trick illustrates use of an upright slack throw. When I built the trick, my focus was on the vanishing axle loop illusion immediately following it, and the slack bit was just a way to get there. It took someone else pointing it out before I even really noticed what I’d done.
Inspiration came from some of Paul Escolar’s tricks, and the name is a direct reference to him (“the spiky-haired freak”) as well as the way the slack loop seems to defy gravity a bit.” – Jacob
